Hey there!

My name is Sophie (she/her) and I am an artist and educator living in Portland, Maine.

I have a Master of Arts in Teaching from the Maine College of Art (Portland, ME) and a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Bates College (Lewiston, ME). I grew up spending time in the Boston, MA area and the trails and woods of the White Mountains of NH. I teach art to all grade levels; my place-based, cross-curricular art lessons facilitate opportunities for authentic discovery for all types of learners. My creative practice takes place mostly in the ceramics studio where I make functional pottery, but I also enjoy knitting, letter writing, basic carpentry, and keeping up with my photographic journal on Instagram (check it out: @sky_scapes_). Outside of art, my passions include eating local fruits and vegetables, adventuring into the mountains, picking flowers, reading good books, and laughing with friends and family.
